چکیده

Background: Ticks and tick-borne diseases (TBDs) are considered to be the most serious health problems for animals humans. This issue prompts veterinarians researchers adopt better preventive control strategies. Therefore, this study aims develop hybridoma vaccine against Hylomma dromedarii infesting Camelus dromedaries. Methods: Myeloma cell culture was administered immunized mouse in order produce hybridomas cells. These cells were then emulsified with Montanide ISA-51 adjuvant. Two doses of prepared anti-tick intradermally camels an interval five weeks. The humoral response experimental measured by indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Result: There a significant (p less than 0.05) decrease immune responses tick counts molting capacity. Overall, 85% efficacy developed recorded. It is concluded that based effective controlling H. infestation camels.

Effects of anti-tick cocktail vaccine against Rhipicephalus appendiculatus.

Rhipicephalus appendiculatus serpin-3 (RAS-3), R. appendiculatus serpin-4 (RAS-4) and a 36-kDa immuno-dominant protein of R. appendiculatus (RIM36) were reported as candidate antigens for the anti-tick vaccine to control ixodid ticks. In the present study, we generated recombinant proteins of RAS-3 (rRAS-3), RAS-4 (rRAS-4) and RIM36 (rRIM36), and assessed their potency as an anti-tick cocktail ...

Efficacy of Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus Bm86 against Hyalomma dromedarii and Amblyomma cajennense tick infestations in camels and cattle.

The recombinant Bm86-based tick vaccines have shown their efficacy for the control of cattle ticks, Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus and R. annulatus infestations. However, cattle ticks often co-exist with multi-host ticks such as Hyalomma and Amblyomma species, thus requiring the control of multiple tick infestations for cattle and other hosts. Vaccination trials using a R. microplus recomb...

Single-dose vaccine against tick-borne encephalitis.

Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) virus is the most important human pathogen transmitted by ticks in Eurasia. Inactivated vaccines are available but require multiple doses and frequent boosters to induce and maintain immunity. Thus far, the goal of developing a safe, live attenuated vaccine effective after a single dose has remained elusive. Here we used a replication-defective (single-cycle) flavi...

Catalase from larvae of the camel tick Hyalomma dromedarii

Catalase plays a major role in protecting cells against toxic reactive oxygen species. Here, Catalase was purified from larvae of the camel tick Hyalomma dromedarii and designated TLCAT. It was purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation and chromatography on DEAE-cellulose, Sephacryl S-300 and CM-cellulose columns. Gel filtration and SDS-PAGE of the purified TLCAT indicated that the protein has...

Morphological and molecular identification of the brown dog tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus and the camel tick Hyalomma dromedarii (Acari: Ixodidae) vectors of Rickettsioses in Egypt

AIM Rickettsioses have an epidemiological importance that includes pathogens, vectors, and hosts. The dog tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus and the camel tick Hyalomma dromedarii play important roles as vectors and reservoirs of Rickettsiae. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of Rickettsiae in ixodid ticks species infesting dogs and camels in Egypt, in addition to, the morphologi...
